Binary Universes

Standardizing universe counting by applying ROY G BIV to binary counting, replacing 1s with colors and 0s with nothingness. It is beautiful.

The rainbow has been simplified to exclude indigo and "violet" becomes simple purple. So we have ROYGBP. White has been added to the end to allow for 127 universes, ultimately making it ROYGBPW.

CountColor
1Red
2Orange
4Yellow
8Green
16Blue
32Purple
64White

So universe 3 would be Red and Orange, because red (1) plus orange (2) = 3. Universe 5 would be 4 + 1, so Yellow and Red. Universe 6 would then be 4 + 2, so Yellow and Orange. Universe 7 would be 4 + 2 + 1, so Yellow, Orange and Red.

Universe Assignments

Taping 3 colors on a DMX connection could be come pretty cumbersome, but a good programmer knows that universes need not be sequential. The beauty of this is that subdivisions can be made which are clearly visible. For instance. All of a particular stage could be the numbers between 8 & 15, an another stage, 16-31, allowing for one stage universes to always begin with green, and the other stage to begin with blue. This would nicely allow universes 1, 2 & 3 for the main unit, universes 4-7 for location rigging, and purple and white to cover anything beyond the ordinary.
