2 Channel Fixtures, Odds & Evens

If you are faced with a line voltage dimmable 2 part fixture such as a Colt Color Mix Tube or a Hybrid fixture and you want to know which goes in odd and which goes in even, here is the standard. The same would apply to LEDs, perhaps you are building your own fixture and you are connecting it to an encoder, which is the first channel?
